Hemchandra Vikramaditya (Hemu), born in Machari, Rajgarh, a village in Alwar, was a Hindu emperor of North India during the 16th century. This was a period when the Mughals and Afghans were vying for power in the region.
हेमू उर्फ़ हेमचन्द्र, हेमू विक्रमादित्य अथवा हेमचंद्र विक्रमादित्य (निधन: 5 नवम्बर 1556) हिन्दू कमाण्डर थे । वे अलवर क्षेत्र में राजगढ़ के निकट माछेरी ग्राम में 1501 ई. में जन्मे, धार्मिक संत पूरणदास के पुत्र थे, जो बाद में वृंदावन जाकर वल्लभ सम्प्रदाय के संत हरिवंश से जुड़ गए थे। उनका परिवार सुन्दर भविष्य की कामना से रिवाडी आ गया था तथा वहीं हेमचन्द्र ने शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी।
